Picking the Right Networks

Social media and word of mouth marketing are definitely HOT, but as a nation bent on consumption, it is important to do the research before jumping in. Joining every network out there can be disastrous because you don’t want to spread yourself too thin, but with SO many to choose from, how do you know which one is right for you? Here’s a little help to get you started.

First, here are some reasons jumping in head first without doing the research can lead to disaster:

  • Choosing the wrong network can be a HUGE waste of time
  • While Facebook and MySpace may be uber-popular, it doesn’t mean they are right for you
  • Certain networks lend themselves better depending on your goal (think myspace for music rather than facebook)
